I would recommend that the smallest (cheapest) you look at is the Grizzly G0704. If you really want a capable knee mill (that has a lot of real advantages over a square column mill), and can swing the extra dough, Grizzly sells a 8x30 Taiwanese Knee Mill G0730 that is a significantly better machine than its cheaper 6x26 knee mill little brothers.
Apr 29, 2010· The mill you have looks a lot like the Grizzly G3103 except without their label. I will be using it on mostly on aluminum, but occasionally mild steel, and stainless steel. The G3103 only goes to down to 240 RPM.

Jan 24, 2005· Anyway, I am looking into buying a tabletop vertical mill. I have narrowed it down to two finalists. First, the sherline Model 5400 and secondly the Grizzly G8689. I am not sure of the quality and tolerances of the grizzly, but have heard very good things about the sherline, with tolerances of .0005 or more. This is fine for my small shop.
