Mar 16, 2018· I am on my second Millrite, a '67 MVN. They are good mills, no bells and whistles, and no silly ideas. They are rigid for their size and weight. Those mills were made with at least four different spindles, R8, B&S 9, NMTB30, and others. There were also a lot of other options.

HI, I am looking to buy a Burke Millrite vertical mill and am looking at a model MV1. I've also seen MVN models for sale and wonder what the difference between them is. The quill feed is by a hand wheel, not a lever; I've read somewhere that wheel feed is better for brass and that is 99% of what I work with.
I had a late-model Millrite for 2 years, and I loved it. The only downside is that they have a someone plain head, with no downfeed stop, no powerfeed, and you could either get a drill-press style rack and pinion rapid downfeed, or a fine feed, but not both. And the way the quill was designed, it's very tough to add whichever one you didn't get.

May 03, 2009· I've got an older Millrite with the step pulley head, and I'd concur on the weight. Mine has the factory power feed on X, and I doubt it adds more than 20# overall, including the gearmotor and control box. Its always a good idea to loosen the head and rotate it as near as possible to upside down when handling any turret mill.
